God wants us to understand that all of us are sinners that are in need of forgiveness.
Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
He wants us to know that there is a penalty for sin.
Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus."
He wants you to know that Jesus has paid for our sins.
Rom 5:8 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
He wants you to know that you can be saved.
Rom 10:9-10 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
HERE'S A SIMPLE PRAYER THAT YOU MIGHT WANT TO SAY:
Father in Heaven, I now realize that I have sinned and that without your help, I am forever lost. I ask that You forgive all my sins and save me. I believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son and that He gave His life on the cross to pay the penalty for my sins. I believe that He rose again and ascended into Heaven. I accept Your plan of salvation for my life, and I thank you for saving me. Help me to live a life that is pleasing in Your sight. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
Praise the Lord! If you prayed that prayer and was sincere about it, you ARE saved! You have the promise of eternal life! Now, I promise that you will falter from time to time. However, forgiveness is still available (read 1 John 1:9). It is also important that you get involved in a Bible-believing, Christ-honoring church in your area.
